Microsoft reveals Internet Explorer’s security problem in there web browser which left the web browser open to hackers. Once the security problem was discovered, users of Internet Explorer which use the operating systems Windows XP and Windows 7 were recommended to use a different web browser while the security problem was being solved.
The security problem was affecting Internet Explorer versions 7 and 8 which were being used on the Windows XP operating systems as well as Internet Explorer versions 8 and 9 which were being used on the Windows 7 operating systems. The new Internet Explorer 10, with Windows 8 is not affected.
The Internet Explorer security problem has caused computers to be infected by a Trojan which malware and antivirus programs have been unable to eliminate and has left computers open to hackers.
There has been a temporary patch for the web browser security problem since Wednesday and Microsoft are releasing an update to its Internet Explorer web browser on Friday to fix this security problem that could expose computers to hackers. The permanent solution to the problem will be automatically installed on PCs running on Microsoft’s Windows operating systems if the machine are set up to receive automatic important updates. The temporary repair requires clicking on a link.
Microsoft is urging PC users who haven’t enabled their machines for automatic updates to retrieve and install the permanent patch as soon as possible.
Although Microsoft says “the vast majority” of users have not been affected by the security problem on Internet Explorer.
Microsoft, the world’s largest software maker, will release a new version of Internet Explorer along with a large update of Windows on October the 26th.
